CBAM Guidance for Indian Exporters
End-to-end guidance for Indian exporters whose goods fall under the EU Carbon Border Adjustment Mechanism.
CBAM Guidance for Indian Exporters
The EU CBAM (Regulation (EU) 2023/956) requires embedded-emissions information for imports of iron & steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity. Indian exporters are not the reporting party in the EU, but their EU importers depend on emissions data that only the producer can supply. Social Lab helps you understand your exposure and prepare that data.
Your end-to-end CBAM compliance partner
Collection and calculation of CBAM emissions data, and preparation of quarterly and annual CBAM reports in line with EU requirements.
Assessment of CBAM costs based on embedded emissions and EU carbon prices, and identification of emission reduction opportunities to minimize future carbon costs.
Preparation of documentation required for CBAM verification, and coordination and support during third-party verification and annual compliance.

CBAM Guidance for Indian Exporters — questions we get
Does CBAM make me file a report in the EU?
No. The reporting declarant is your EU importer. But they need your emissions data to report accurately, which is where preparation matters.
Which of my products are affected?
CBAM covers iron & steel, aluminium, cement, fertilisers, hydrogen and electricity, identified by CN code per the current Regulation.
When does this get serious?
The transitional reporting phase runs to end-2025, with the definitive phase — including certificate purchase by importers — starting in 2026.
