Under the Solid Waste Management Rules 2016, bulk waste generators — any premises producing 100+ kg/day, including large societies, campuses, hotels and institutions — must segregate at source and process wet waste on-site (or through an authorised facility). Urban local bodies carry the broader municipal duty. We confirm exactly what applies to you.
